Charlotte E. West, daughter of James W. and Sarah West, was born March 22, 1876, and died May 8, 1895, aged 19 years, 1 mo.,  and 16 days.

Her death was caused by the explosion of an oil can while she was making a fire.  She was terribly burned and died about five o'clock the same day.

She was converted and joined the U.B. church at Pleasant Grove, March 4th., 1894.  The funeral service was held March 10th., at 2 p.m. at the home of Jacob Shew near Lexington, conducted by Rev. P.K. Reynolds.
